Mixing speaker brands?BLAKE
Mar 7, 2001 7:23 AM
I would like to use a bipole or tripole config for my rear surrounds. My fronts are Paradigm 20 with matching center and sub. They do not offer the right rear. Please help.

Common view is that if you have matched fronts and centre thats whats important, rears not so much, although you may want to make sure they're the same load (ie 4 or 8 ohm etc as your mains). I ran mission dipoles with Dynaudio fronts for the last six months, they sounded fine.
The receiver/amp wll dictate what ohm speakers.....TinHere

you can use where. The speakers should be timbre matched. The size and make of the drivers will determine that. Like PeteintheUK said, it is most important to get your mains and center channel matched for a seamless intergrated system. The rears are mostly effect speakers and any differences will be less noticable.
