Need a little advice fellas about my CDM's.........BK
Mar 7, 2001 1:44 PM
okay, I have the Denon 4800, but I'm going to get a separate 5 channel amp to run my B&W CDM's. I will use the 4800 as the pre and I'm looking at the Rotel RMB-1095, the Parasound HCA-2205A, and the Sunfire Cinema Grand.

Which amp will be a better match for my CDM1NT, CDMCNT, and DM601S2?

Thanks in advance fellas.

Yea, I'd sell 'em and get........bone

heh, heh.

Really can't help ya much. The reviews I've seen would put the parasound ahead in that pack.

good luck, mate
Thanks buddy, any input, is good input. (nt)BK

What about the Anthem MCA 5? People say parasound is bright, but i liked it. The Rotel is a beast! Weighs like 80 pounds.

Do a search at digitaltheater.com and read the posts by Vadim on amps. This EE prof knows his stuff about amp designs and provides excellent info on the subect (what to look for when selecting an amp). BTW, there is a ton of discussion on the different amps at DT which may be of help to you.

I would compare how each of the amps are built. Size of power transformer (bigger is better), # of output resistors/channel (the more the merrier), power supplies values (more is preferred). In addition, might check if the warranty is trasferable which is important if you sell down the road.
