Yamaha NS-AC40X
Cerwin Vega LS-6C or
JBL N center.
I currently have a Yamaha HTR-5280 with a set of JBL ND-310 speakers.
Subwoofer (under $250): Cerwin Vega LW-12
JBL PB-10 or
Sony SA-WM40
If you have experience with the above mentioned, could you give me some advices. Thanks. |

Mar 7, 2001 8:00 PM | | Go with the JBL center. I have Cerwin Vega stuff before and other than being loud, it was junk. Yamaha makes better electronics than speakers. I am not a JBL fan but since your fronts are JBL's, you should match the center. As far as subs go I would probably go with the JBL. I have heard that their new subs are better than subs they had in previous years. Next I would go with the CV. They make decent subs. I wouldn't get the sony as I have never heard a good sounding Sony speaker. I would also look at the Paradigm PDR-10 in this price range. |

I too have the ND310's;(and HLS620 towers for rear surrounds, PSW D-112 sub) and the S-center blows away the N Center. To my ears there was no contest. The s-series will blend very, very well with your ND310's. You can find the s-center online for around $150.00. You won't be sorry. |

Mar 8, 2001 3:43 PM | | Steve- as I mentioned, I have the JBL PSW D-112. Mine has been flawless for over a year, but there were some problems with them, so JBL has now offered the PB-10 and PB-12, as the latest revision.
The (PB 10, and) PB12 have got great reviews, is smaller in "footprint" than my PSW D-112, and is probably one of the best values around. Check your online prices at various outlets, they will beat stores like "Best Buy", by a considerable amount. I'd go for the 12, and not the "10" if you have any room at all. It's not much bigger than the PB10. Have fun. |
