AAAAAAA question, which intergrated amp for MMG's ?Six Cats!

Hello all,
As I am planning to buy MMG's in the future (and have an old pair of Thiel 03A's) would any of you lucky Maggie owners give me advice on what "high current" intergrated amp would make those MMG's sing! I have a new NAD C 350 (60 watt) intergrated amp and I am told that it should work fine. Is there anything aside from NAD ($1000 or less) that will bring the best out of these speakers,or is NAD in its various forms i.e.:350,370,270,the best bang for the buck? Is the Music Fidelity,A.R.Complete,Creek,Audio Analogue Puccini,JoLida, etc. really better than NAD,or is it hype? Thanks for any help. Six Cats!

MF A3: Try it For 30 days from Audio Advisor with the only risk being round trip shipping costs (approx 35 bucks if you return it). They have a demo model now for $895.00 though I would suggest a new unit for an additional $100.00. I received a demo A300 that seemed a bit abused and had to be returned. Audioadvisor sent me a brand new one with zero hassels. Great customer service. Compare the MF to an NAD and see what floats your boat.

I would also look into the Arcam Alpha 10. I've seen demo models with full factory warranty for < $900.00 (audiogon.com). Powerful amp which is very easily integrated into a HT system. The new Arcam line also looks interesting. The Musical Fidelity gives you zero HT options and only allows for biamping.

Fir $1K, you might also check into used separates for a two channel system, but that would be adressing a different question.

All the gear you mentioned is good quality so I doubt anyone can say objectively which one is the "best". The fact is that most separates and integrated nowadays are very capable machines, especially amps.I would go with the best money deal I could get. I have a pair of MMGs used as surrounds but every so often I switch them as mains to compare and contrast with my Radia mains. I think the MMGs are the best deal in speaker history ever but then again I'm a planar fan.

As far as how many watts, it depends on how loud you want to go and the size of your room. If you want them REALLY loud you have to give them a lot of juice but 60W continuous should be plenty for normal listening. Keep in mind that the MMG is not a thunderous speaker (e.g. CW) and is not build for loudness. Its greatest strength IMHO is its clarity. Good luck.
