| a/d/s 236si vs pioneer TSC1653 which one better ? | andy Mar 8, 2001 6:27 AM | | I have use pioneer 6950 with an old a/d/s PQ8 and pioneer TSC1653 speaker. But I found out that in the low volume (which I prefer) the sound is not good. My prediction is because its under power since the power ampli its only 4 X 20 watts while the nominal power of the speaker is 50 W. I decided to change the power ampli using CrossFire 5 channel(4 X 40 watt and 140 watt. But its turnout the sound "colour" its not as I expected. The sound become "drier". Right now I've been thinking to use back my old PQ8 ampli but I change the speaker to become a/d/s 236si (because I cant afford to buy 346si or better quality.
My question :
1. Is it true that the a/d/s 236si will have clearer sound than TSC1653 ?
2. Does the combination of a/d/s 236si and PQ8 will have clearer sound in low volume than the combination of Crossfire power amp and TSC1653 ?
3. If I need to buy cross over and power amp. for the combination of a/d/s 236si and PQ 8, what will be "the best buy" option. I use Cross fire MTX sub woofer 8"
Thanks a lot
