| Velodyne-HGS10vs.Sunfire MKII are these the best for $1500?? | james Mar 8, 2001 1:52 PM | | I have a pair of Dynaudio Gemini speakers with external BESL xovers and am looking for a sub to play 60hz down. The Velodyne HGS10 and the Sunfire MkII are the two I am considering. But I think they both have bad points.I've read several reviews which said the Velodyne was more accurate and excels at music reproduction while the Sunfire has more output and is better suited for home theater and not very good at music. This leans me towards the Velodyne, but on this site there are several reviews about problems with the HGS series of subs. Some people having to exchange 2 or 3 times to get a good one.Was that a one time bad run of subs that has been corrected?Or maybe you guys have a suggestion in the $1000 to $1500 range that is an all together better sub than either of these two.Give me some help guys!! |

I had an HGS-10 and found it only mediocre for music reproduction. I would suggest the ACI Titan II at $1000 as a vastly superior alternative. |
| Try HSU | Sam Mar 8, 2001 7:50 PM | | Try the HSU TN 1220, i haven't heard it, but look at the reviews, that many 5 stars can't be wrong! |
| Adding to the mix | Bryan Mar 9, 2001 6:43 AM | | Look at the dual SVS 20-39CS package. $1,244 delivered. |
