Biwiring Def Tech BP2000TLsnathaniel

My HT setup is all Def Techs: BP2000TLs as front, CLR 2000 as center, and BP2004s as rear. I am very pleased with the sound; however, someone suggested that I try biwiring the 2000TLs to improve the sound even more. Has anyone tried their 2000TLs wired this way? Right now I have them connected to the high level inputs with separate feeds to the LFEs. Does bi-wiring really make a difference?
It makes a difference if you sell speaker wire (nt)eric the red

No flame intended Bob, but why do well-respected speaker manufacturers like Dynaudio in their Audience series put only two binding posts on their speakers? It certainly is not a cost issue. When I ordered a pair of norhs and asked m.barnes if the speakers were bi-wirable, he said that, if I wanted, he would put two more binding posts on the speakers at no charge but I wouldn't HEAR a difference. He told me that gold binding cost less than three bucks a piece to buy. How can four wires connected at their respective positive and negative posts at the source, magically seperate the proper frequency at four binding posts connected to the same crossover at the speaker? Unless someone gives me a non-voodoo answer, I will continue to believe that it's another way for wire manufacturers to sell more wire.

I agree with you 100% eric. What if those frequencies accidentally take the wrong wire? Will bass come out of your tweeters? C'mon, this isn't rocket science folks.

Going to jump in here, if that is ok. IMHO, the biggest gain that bi-wiring allows is a heavier guage overall of wire going to the speaker. I can see how this might help, depending on the guage of the original run. I think bi-wiring is usually a waste of money. Now, BI-AMPING is a whole different ballgame & is definitely worth checking out if you have the funds & wherewithal to bypass that yucky passive crossover.

(and this is just mine)-I had a pair of Paradigm Studio 60's that I went back and forth with for a year bi-wiring and single wiring, and heard no noticable difference. If someone (like the Paradigm propaganda machine does in the owner's manual) tells you that bi-wiring indeed DOES make a difference, then I am inclined to think someone will believe it.There is a lot of audio voodoo out there. That still does not answer the question as to how the audio signals know how to go to their respective drivers when they reach the four binding posts hooked up to the same passive crossover.
