| Jmlabs, Dynaudio, Paradigm & ALR Jordon | Mizzuri Apr 23, 2001 7:16 AM | | I am stuck between purchasing JMlabs colbat 810, Dynaudio Audience 60, Paradigm Studio 60's or ALR Jordon Entry 5m.
I am leaning towards the JMlabs. Can anyone give some feedback on any of these (good or bad).
Your advice is greatly appreciated.
I will be running these with a Marantz SR8000 & DV7000
Thankyou again |
| re: Jmlabs, Dynaudio, Paradigm & ALR Jordon | Duc Ho Apr 25, 2001 2:04 PM | | I have listened to the JMLabs Cobalt 810 and Dynaudio 52 (sound similar to the 60 but with a little less bass) side by side at home. I also have listened to the Studio 40 (sound similar to 60). Here are my impressions:
The JMLabs has a very sweet, warm & detailed mid & upper range but a little bit lacking in bass punch. Sound stage is excellent. The Dynaudio is very punchy, dynamic, and detailed, neutral but very tough to drive (4 ohm load, will not sound good with Marantz sr-8000; I happened to try that combo: the Marantz did not have any bass with the Dynaudio). The JMLabs, being 8 ohm, is much easier to match with amplifiers. I chose the Dynaudio because I like the kick in my gut when a bass note hit. I'm paying with for it with a high current amplifier.
I personally think they both sound better than the Paradigm (better tweeter for both, tighter bass for the Dyn.)
I haven't heard the ALR Jordon.
Hope this helped. |
