Most newer SACD's have a redbook CD layer on them in addition to the SACD layer. These are called hybrid SACD's. So these disks CAN be played on a regular CD player, but the quality will be similar to regular CD. I've heard that even the redbook(regular CD) quality of these hybrid SACD's is better than most redbook CD's since they are manufactured on brand new equipment. |
