Vifa driver, tweeter, in the nOrh 6.5 cheap, attn King DaddyGreg P

I think its happened this time. This last week I was partying (Grand Prix at Purdue) and my nOrhs were turned up loud, I was playing a rap song and I noticed the drivers were bottoming out earlier on the volume than they should, I turned the volume down. Everything seemed Ok but the next day I turned on my system I noticed one speaker definately didnt sound right. The driver wasnt moving and only some sound was coming out of the tweeter. I took them in to get looked at today, but I bet I'll need a new tweeter and woofer. Could you guys (nOrh owners) tell me where I can get them cheap.

You can get them at Parts Express or Madisound. Just pull the old driver and check the magnet for the manufacturer's tag. It'll have the model number and the impedance.
Damn that Hertz fellow, now I don't get to be the hero.Kingdaddy

Looks like Mr. Hertz beat me to it, that's exactly what I was going to say, Madinsound or Parts Express. I'm sure its an off the shelf item somewhere around $75 ea.

Sorry to here about your loss, I'll drink a shot of Tequila in their Honor tonight

Greg,
Sorry to hear about your loss. I remember too many late nights eating purvis burgers at the Tri-Chi after the prix. What a great weekend though? What are your thoughts about the cermaic 4.0's? Lost your e-mail, drop me a line when you get a chance. Regards, Jeff from Indy.

Jeff,
Ive been waiting for almost 6 months for the video set. I gave Barnes an email today, Naphung cant tell me whats up. I'll give you dibs on the extra pair of 4.0 if you want them otherwise I'll sell them here. The 4.0 will be gloss white with black grills. Send me a mail sometime.

King Daddy,
I thought I damaged my 6.5 a while ago (it just turned out to be the huge change in the sound that happens with these speakers)
and you told me of a guy you got the woofs real cheap from when a friend blew them. Could you give me some info.?

David,
I live at 172 Littleton St. Gemini House. You can gladly come listen to the nOrhs just give me an email. However this weekend they probobly wont be repaired unless its something minor.

Go to the webpage www.norh.com/DIY.htm

It has a list of places you can get the drivers and it also tells you which drivers to use.

Please not that the woofers are rated at 300 watts to it is unlikely you blew them with too much power. It is more likely you clipped the speakers. Clipping is the result of overdriving your amplifiers so that it produces DC. You are genearlly safer with more power than too little power.
