Apr 24, 2001 4:07 PM | | I'm utterly baffeled when it comes to subwoofers and bass vs. LFE.
I have my subwoofer plugged into the LFE out of my reciever.
What happens when I'm in stereo mode and playing a CD? Is my sub getting any signal at all?
If i have my speakers set to 'large' so there is effectively, no bass redirection going on, what comes out of the LFE?

On my yamaha i put it in "both" mode, meaning that I want bass to come from the lfe channel as well as the stereo channels (even if I have the mains set to small this still works) as I understand it. |

Apr 24, 2001 4:43 PM | | yes, it's all in your speaker setup menu for your receiver. typically the receiver will not output a sub out when listening to two channel stereo, with the speakers set to large. you usually can go into the menu and activate the sub for both or all, if you so choose. |
