| Infinity SM100 | ttran Jun 3, 2001 12:35 AM | | Hello,
I thought I posted this messaged but couldn't find it so I post again.
Anyway, I have a pair of SM100(very old model right?) but my sister made a mistake and she cranked my yam to max volume and one of the tweeters was dead. I have the RS5 but I still love the SM100. Anyone know where I can get the replacement for the tweeter or have spare ones to sell??
Thanks. |

FWIW, I was down at the harmon plant ten years ago on a tour given by a neighbor of mine ( he developed the titanium tweeter for JBL) and I saw a production run of sm 120 speakers. They come down the line flat and the edges are coated with white glue and the whole shebang is folded up to form the box of an enclsure and two belts were wrap around it to hold while the glue dry. After the drivers were installed, the belts were removed, tossed into a bin and each one had about five different tones played through it. If it passed, it immediately fell into a packing box to be sent to the warehouse. I still have a pair of SM150 and I loved their efficiency. I 'd sellthem, but no one in my area wants them and they are too damn big and heavy to ship. My brother also has two of these he doesn't use. We joke that someday we might lashed them together into a raft! |

I some one just recommended me a website to get the polycell tweeter.
Do you have the picture of your SM150? what is the different between 100 vs 150? Probably i wanna buy it but the cost might be more than the price fo the speakers? :)
Thanks man. |
