| Will ACI Titan II be overkill with Mon. Audio Bronze 2's?... | briney Jun 3, 2001 11:02 AM | | Was planning on using the MA ASW-110 or 210 w, Bronze 2's for fronts and Baby Micros for sats. I like the oak finish of the Titan but not sure about overspending for a sub($1000 vs $500-850 for the asw 110 & 210)to be used in a 14' x25' room.
I'm trying to use a little financial discretion here. I wonder if spending so much more for the sub as compared to rest of the system makes sense? |

Its not like wasting $1000 of electronics on bad speakers since the sub is off on a parallel "chain". Your bass will sound great, and the quality of it will not be wasted because of your $500 mains. A cheap sub on the other hand can easily make your system sound worse, but the Titan is garenteed to make it sound better. Finally, by investing the $1,000 now, if you ever upgrade your mains in the future, the sub won't evolve into a weak link. |

Sure it might sound impressive at first. After a while, you get very sick of hearing the bass as separate from the rest of the music. The Titan II is really the standard for a musical sub in my book. You'll be able to later upgrade your mains and be very satisfied. A pair of Sapphire IIIs would make the perfect upgrade:) |
