Anyone here looking for a good musical sub under $400 ?
No problem just shoot for the Adire Audio Rava at $399 it has a verry good 12" cone which can move a LOT of air and a verry powerfull 250 watt amp.
Put these to thing together in a 60 liter sealed enclosure and you will get a verry clean tight sounding bass down to 20Htz.
But thats not all the sub comes in a verry pretty cabinet which is covored in real red oak venner on the top & sides of the cabinet.
The front & rear sides of the cabinet is painted with high gloss black polyurethane.
When i got my baby hooked up my jaw droped the sound was so tight clean & low i put in lots of cds sat down on the couch with a nice glass of red wine and let the music play the way it was intended to.
What about movies ?
Ohh this sub can do movies it is able to play 99% of all dvd movies with lots of heavy bass content.
Titan A.E, Gone in 60 seconds, Blade, The Matrix, U-571 all blew me away and my guests to ( all of my guests were like WOW!!! how much was that? and i say $400 then there all like i goto get me one of them)
So if your looking for a good music / home theater sub for under $400 get one of these.
Here is the link http://www.adireaudio.com/rpd/rava.htm
And here is a pick of the sub.

& trust me this sub will kill subs like the Paradigm PDR-12, Def Tech Pro sub12, Velodyne CT-120 any many more.
Check it out
I'll give it a tentative 2ndNorm Strong

I've only heard the Rava once. It was connected to a Yamaha shelf system and supplied the one thing the shelf system lacked--genuine bass. I listened to a lot of pipe organ music on this system. It sounded as good as any I've run across.
Adire Rava VS HSU VTF-2 Might be InterestingDennis

In the looks department, the Adire is the winner, but what about sound???

I've had my Rava for a few months now, and I'm very happy with it. Deep, clean, tight, accurate bass for music and HT. Can't really add anything else to GoFish's post, other than to say I'd be interested in a side by side comparison of the Rava vs. VTF-2.

Hey paulb,
I own the Hsu VTF-2 which i got for used, anyway i have a friend in vancouver who owns a Rava i took my sub over there for a a/b comparison & i got to break the bad news........The Rava was just so much better i was dissapointed with the hsu i never once heard the rava bottom out when my hsu bottoms out quit alot ( i have to turn the volume up relly loud to feel the bass durning movies in my new super large room.
Anyways the rava compares to the paradigm pw-2200 pretty much although i would have liked it more if the rava was ported & tuned around 25Hz then you would get more output in the 20 to 30Hz range & even the 30 to 40Hz range were all of the puch is.
& belive me the rava does have punch.

Interesting...glad you were able to compare the two side by side, although I wonder how a Rava would do in your very large room. If you really want serious punch, you could always buy the Shiva driver from adire audio (the driver used in the Rava), and build a ported cabinet. Many Shiva owners say they've gotten outstanding results with a Shiva (or two) in a DIY project. Heck, when I'm ready to upgrade (not till I get a house, the Rava is plenty deep and loud for an apt.), I may just remove the Shiva from the Rava's sealed cabinet and build a large, ported cabinet for it instead. Thanks for the comparison...interesting results. The Rava is a great sub for the $!
