| Which Speakers for Home Theater? | Lafferty Jul 24, 2001 11:12 AM | | I am upgrading my ancient Denon Pro Logic system to a Sony STR-V333ES receiver. However, I can't seem to decide on a good surround speaker package. The Polk RM6500s seems good, but some people complain about the weak mid-range and the fact that they don't reproduce music ideally. Also, I've heard both very good and very bad things about Sony's high end SAV-E815ED package--seems expensive, and I can't find ANY store that carries them. I will be using the system for appx. 75% HT, but want speakers that reproduce music very well. And I'm not expressly limited to satellite speakers, but would like to keep the final price tag to under $850. Any suggestions? |
| Couple options | Bryan Jul 24, 2001 12:57 PM | | I like are the nOrh 4.0 package ($850) and Ascend Acoustics CBM-170 package ($750). Do you have a sub or will you need to buy one in addition to the speakers? |
