Got a chance to get a pair of AR M6's...how do they sound in an audio-only setup? Thanks!

I bought a pair of AR M6s right after I graduated H.S. in 1992, that was back when AR products garnered more respect. As far as sonics go, I remember them having the ability to throw a really expansive although not totally accurate soundstage, no doubt due to the upward angled mid-bass driver. Also, for a tower speaker with 2 8" woofers in a bandpass enclosure their bass response seemed a little lacking. It wasn't terribly weak, just not very extended (45Hz or so). However, when I combined them with my first M&K subwoofer (MX-100) in late 1992 it was the best sounding setup I had ever heard at that point. I'd say buy them if they're in good shape and not more than $450 or so. Good luck.

Bgought them home today. They're in perfect shape, and I got them for $ 200.00 at an estate sale. They sound great with my sub. Thanks for the info.
