Looking at small subs....Boston's PV 1000??HWP

I would like a small sub for music only. The room is fairly large
12'H x 17'L x 13'W. I was interested in the Sunfire true sub until
I read the reviews. How about the Boston Accoustics PV1000? Is the
high wattage small enclosure concept viable for music. Some reviewers
of the sunfire comented that it had a very narrow band width (along with some undesireable noises). I really can't have a big box in that room. The size of the PV1000 is ideal. I currently use an M&K
VX-7 MKIII which is a small enclosure with a 50 watt amp and an 8"
driver. It sounds okay but doesn't have the depth I would like. I
believe its because it is too small for that room.

Appreciate all comments

thank you HWP

I recently bought a ProSub 100 from Definitive Technology and I absolutely love it. 10", 250 watts, small enclosure and a clean, thunderous sound (give it time to break itself in and it awakens). I have a 10 foot ceiling and a 20' x 25' family room tha opens to the rest of the house (stone tile floors). I sit 10 feet from the sub and I can feel the couch actually vibrating. U-571 depth charges - amazing (the wife obviously tucked away in the bedroom).
