Try a JL Audio 1 phase speaker - 10"? (lower end models require much less power to drive). They produce clean, tight sound, are reliable and perform quite well in ported boxes (I'd use a ported box - once again requires less power than a sealed box). As for an amp, Orion is known for providing clean, high current power (low THD at full power into low resistance and a certified power rating throughout the dynamic range is key - versus a 1KHz signal). If they still have the Cobalt series on the market - pick your power (based on your speaker size and how much thump you want)and bridge it - you'll have a keeper.
