- I did not spend much time to listen to my 3801 , I have Take 5 of Energy for both HT and music, they are small speakers and give harsh sound, I m not sur that if harsh sound belong to 3801 or speakers.
- The user manual of DEnon 3801 is suck, I'm computer engineer and I have to read tech doc every days, but I still feel the Denon manual is out of my reach and my intelligence!!!! You should have at least 1 Ph D to digest it |

I compared 3801, 3802 specs, they are nearly the same, except some small new features, ex: prologic II... I think that the sound quality would be the same.
When I use 3801 for HT, the sound is so harsh that even I put treble to min, it still hurts my ears. (I use Energy Take 5), but I still think that DEnon is good in comparison to other receivers of same price

I'm not a pro in Audio but I think that if you play DVD you don't need to be worried by Pro Logic cause DVD gives you surrounding sound in Dolby 5.1 or DTS
when you play VCR, you need Pro Logic so Pro Logic II is > than Pro Logic
Any supple advices from real audio pro? please!
