| Rookie Question: Can My Cambridge SW Ensemble III handle? | vtpilot1 Jan 18, 2002 11:46 AM | | I recently purchased a Sony STRDA3ES ((100 watts x6)to move up from my old 100 x 2)), I know it's not real high-end, but is was the best Sony made and I wanted the remotes for the other stuff to work together. It will be a while before I have the cash for a proper set of suround and a sub wooffer...
I have a Cambridge Sound Works model twelve...( the brief case system, case turns into a subwoffer) which has two satilite and a seperate small amp. The little speakers say New Ensemble III on the back, 8 Ohms.
To achive (at least) 5.1, I was thinking of using the two Satellite speakers for left and right rear. Then take the little amp use the line out for the subwoofer, put it into the little amp and out to the brief case.
Will that work... will I blow something up?
Will the Satellites work (Cambridge SW will not publish power ratings). Thanks for any comments.
I will get a real set of speakers for my next present (to my self) in about six months. |
