Does anyone know if it is alright to cross the left and right channel A and B outputs, respectively, to increase the output going to a single speaker? Could this harm either the speakers or receiver?
THANKS

Most definitely. You really wanted a new amp anyway, didn't you?
It depends on the design BUT .....woodman

if you cannot get the volume level you seek without running into distortion, what you really need is either:

a. more efficient loudspeakers (higher sensitivity rating) or,
b. a more powerful amp or receiver

What speakers do you have? What amp or receiver are you driving them with?

P.S. Don't hookup both the Speaker 'A' and Speaker 'B' outputs to the same speaker ... NOT likely to be a good idea.
