REL Strata III vs ACI Titan II LE?hometheaterman

I live in an apartment which mean's I will never see the full potential of these subs...at least while I live in an apartment.

Has anyone compared the Strata III vs the Titan II LE? How do they compare under low volume situations? HT vs Music?

I was about to purchase the REL Strata III, but I've heard such good reviews about the Titan II LE.

I got my Titan II LE back in May after a year long search for the perfect sub. My main criteria was musical accuracy. I was able to listen to a number of REL models including the Strata III in store demos but not in my home. Like you, it was my leading candidate until I stumbled across the ACI sub. I am totally pleased with the Titan II LE. It has exactly what I was looking for in accuracy and seamless transition. I can't see how the REL could sound better. From what I've heard, the Titan II will play louder with less distortion. If anything, this should mean it would also be more at ease playing at lower volumes. Hope this helps!

Make no mistake, REL builds a very good sub. I've personally done a direct comparison of the Storm III and the Titan II. I ended up buying a pair of Titan IIs and couldn't be happier. The Titan II can move more air than either the Strata or Storm, but has all the finesse that they have. It sounds great at lower or higher volume levels. Extremely accurate for music. I haven't used for HT myself, but friends have a report great results.

Glad you heard about the Titan II LE in time! Not only will you save money, you'll have at least as good a sub. I could not be more pleased with mine. I liked it so much I decided to try their Sapphire III LEs as well. Cool tunes! Fantastic products and the ladies and gentlemen at ACi have really been helpful and friendly.
Just be prepared, the Titan II is a 70 pound beast! Don't get a hernia taking it out of the box.

Both are excellent subs really... But in my head to head comparisons, the Titan II won out. I found it to go lower, louder and it played clearer... The fact that it was about 40% less was just an added bonus. :-) I know either sub will make you smile when listening to music or HT, but there is something really special about getting everything you want soundwise, and finding out you really got a steal of a price to boot... Good luck, ---Dave
