Matching impedanceentrope

I have a chance to upgrade to new mains that are 4 ohm. The other speakers in my surround system are 8 ohm - all powered from a 5 channel Parasound amp.

Will using 4 ohm mains and 8 ohm surround and center cause a problem for the amp?

Not if the amp can run with 4 ohms speaker on the front channel. (If not it can be overheated or damaged) most amp has an internal control so it is not a problem. Remember that a 8ohm speaker demand a little mor power to give the same db sound as an 4 ohm speaker (This has notting to do with the quality on the sound), so you may need tho adjust the level of the rear and front speaker somewath different.

I have similar question but
Can I do the inverse to what you say, meaning I will put two 8-Ohm speakers in L+R front and other 4 Ohm as surround L+R

The reason is my 8 Ohm speakers have better sound quality than the 4Ohm
Thanks for advices
