| Why so cheap Klipsch KSF 8.5 $299. per pair | jmlmike Nov 30, 2001 7:51 PM | | I was in Tweeter and noticed they were running a sale on Klipsch floor standing speakers 299 for a pair of the KSF 8.5 (Synergy from model years 98/99/2000). They had quite a few pairs new in the box. These are fairly big and heavy speakers apx 50lbs, not that size has anything to do with sound but they sounded fairly good in the demo room. I have always tinkered with the idea of buying some Klipsch (was expecting to buy RF3's) and have been talked out of it every time. Last time I was talked out I purchased Definative Technology speakers for Home Theater and I must admit I really do enjoy them. Anyway, I purchased the speakers for the bedroom and ordered a Marantz SR 5000 (DTS DDIG) from accessories4less for $288. I am going to set up a HT for the bedroom on the cheap. Does anyone know of any issues with the 8.5's I do not mean to get the whole horn tweeter thing going as I like the sound. I just seems weird to sell the speaker soo cheap. This is cheaper them some crap that one would pick up a the CCity/Best Buy. I have 30 days to decide if I like. |

| Same all over.... | Debbi Dec 1, 2001 2:43 PM | | Here in Florida and Penna..same thing 2 for 1. This must be their loss leader. I think they are a great deal for that price. But remember, when you buy them they may well get you to pay full price for the center and rears. Thats the thing about 5.1 with the need for 5 speakers. Klipsch has a special advantage since their speakers are so efficient they do not match well with other brands, so you end up buying the rest from them too. |
