You should check out aperion speakers, the 512D bookshelf reference monitor speaks are a good deal. I just ordered their system. Also recommended is acoustic energy aego 2, gallo, or maybe polk RT25i.

I'm not sure what price-range you're interested in but the Aura speakers on uBid are a flat-out steal. You can pick up a pair of their LST-627M towers for mains and their LSB-527M's for rear surrounds and you'll have a darn good speaker system for a miniscule outlay of cash...expect to pay around $93($38+$55s&h) for the towers and $75($48+$27s&h) for the 527M's. I think Aura's highly-rated LSC-537M CC is gone for good from uBid's inventory(although I could be wrong)...I picked up another one yesterday for only $44($24+$20s&h) Yeah, avoid the Bose AM series...whatta ripoff! BTW, my wife and I auditioned(just for fun) the systems in Best Buy's listening room a couple days before X-mas. Practically everything in there(Bose,KLH,Yamaha,Sony, and JBL) was mass-market crap. Actually, the only thing that sounded pretty good were a couple pairs of JBL bookshelves which were mated to their 10" and 12' subs. My wife turned to me and said that our Aura system sounded SO much better than anything in that room and I didn't pay anywhere near as much money...thanks to uBid. I have a pair of Aura LSW-828M's as mains and the Aura CC in my primary HT and they provide a very nice front soundstage. They sound very good for music and fantastic for HT. Check the reviews on Aura speakers at www.dillonacoustics.com or the various reviews on this website if you're still skeptical. Good Luck.
