Amplifier for NHT VT-2.4thereds
Mar 30, 2002 7:17 PM
Hi all,
I just received NHT vt-2.4 as a gift. I found that My receiver is not powerful enough(Harman Kardon 310, just 50 watt/channel). So i would like to buy new power amp to drive it. Please help me. I am new to audio system. I have a budget around $700.
Should I biwire ? or should I bi-amp? one of my friend recommend 225 watt/channel amp, is that too much? My budget cannot buy that much power.(I am thinking about Rotel rb1070, NAD c270 or Denon POA5200) these are about 120-130watt.. is that enough? or I should save more money to buy a better one? what should I do?
thanks for helping me!! :)

Nice gift -)

225wpc is not too much. A friend just bought a set of these, driving them with a 250wpc Carver M-500t. Sounds great.

NHT sells amps designed to power the bass drivers of your speaker. Check their website at www.NHTHiFi.com

They turn up on Ebay often for $200 to $300, maybe a little higher for the more powerful ones. If you happen to be anywhere near Orlando, FL, NHT has an outlet store selling them at half of retail cost.

Enjoy...
