B&W Matrix 801 S3 - biamp or bridged amplification?Xenith

Hi there,

I have a pair of B&W Matrix 801 S3 which I recently got. I had an Aura PA-200 power amplifier delivering 110W/channel stereo into 8 ohms, which I was running on my previous speakers (B&W 604's). Obviously it wasn't enough power for the 801's, and I finally managed to find another aura PA-200 amplifier. I have the option of either biamping the speakers (using an audio y-adapter i think) or running the Aura amplifiers in bridged mode, in wich case each acts as a 250W into 8 ohm monoblock. Has anyone had experience trying the two methods (biamp vs. bridged). Anyone have any suggestions on which one will work best?

Thanks!
