Bi Amping NHT 2.9amith17

I have a pair of 2.9s, and I want to Bi-Amp them.
I can't get the SA-3 no more.
Can I use any other Amp that doesn't have the crossover that the SA-3 did?
Will the new Evolution A1 amp and X1 crossover work with the 2.9s?
Generally, how can a mono Amp drive two stereo speakers? What am I loosing here?

Hummm. Are you saying you want to replace your 2.9's internal crossover and THEN biamp????????

Don't make this too complicated and give your budget.

In general, Harmon Kardon amps (Citation's in particular) work great with NHT as does B&K. I biamp my NHT VT1.2's with the Sherbourn 5/1500a if you can swing $1300, that would be very good as well.

Just look for a good 5 channel amp (using 4 channels) and biamp using the internal crossovers on the 2.9's. Maybe a used B&K AV5000 would do the trick.
