AR.com DIY Kit Speaker Copycat at Parts ExpressEFE
Apr 3, 2002 2:21 PM
It has been brought to my attention that "Parts Express" has posted the AR.com DIY Speaker Kit on their site without permission and without stating the origin of the speaker kit. I'm not against any parts dealers offering the parts for this kit as a package, as long as they give the due credit to the name and origin of the kit! Parts Express not only offered the parts and kit as a whole, but posted the schematic as well with "All rights reserved by Parts Expressed". I've contacted them and am waiting for a response.

Because of their lack of consideration posting this kit without permission nor due credit, until this matter is rectified, I'm asking all who are interested in building the DIY kit NOT to buy the parts from Parts Express but rather from the dealers recommended in the instructions. I also discovered the inductors used in their kit are not the resistance value and will not meet the specs of the original design! Thanks for your consideration on this matter.

Sincerely,

Hi Ed. It looks like this was addressed just today on the PE message board. http://www.pesupport.com/cgi-bin/config.pl?read=71781 You certainly should get your fair due for creating a kit that has served so many, so well. I remember your design as being basically a gift from you to the members of Audioreview, so it kinda sucks to see others trying to cash in on it. Remember that other guy who was offering "custom" speakers "of his own design" for sale on another forum when he was actually building them from your kit? LOL That was ugly.
I hope you get the situation fixed.ThePhilbert

When are you going to have a web site that
features your products?
I've been offered a free web site but..........................EFE

Sorry,
Right now I have all the business I can handle without a web site! I'm backlogged with orders about a month, I really don't want to hold orders any farther out than that. I appreciate your interest, but just e-mail me at EFESPKRS@aol.com if you'd like my literature. Thanks!
