U must be trying to make me feel bad.... My poor ears have to listen to 20 dollar sony headphones to get better sound than my system... Sigh.... it used to sound Sooo good! Sigh... When will it end!
Nice setup i hope u like it and can afford it |
| Weaknesses!! You gotta be kidding! | Express Jul 24, 2002 4:09 AM | | That is a killer system in h/t or 2 channel.
If you have that kind of disposable cash then go for it. |
| Nice system, wise choices. n/t | Derek416 Jul 24, 2002 4:35 AM | | |
| re: OK, here is the system that i am going to put together! | wanderingbob Jul 24, 2002 5:23 AM | | Your audio system should be an excellent one! You might want to make sure that you have a dedicated 20-amp circuit that uses 12 gauge wire and a heavy-duty duplex outlet for the amplifier.

| No weaknesses, just a suggestion | midfiman Jul 24, 2002 8:18 AM | | I heard the SCM1s in surround, and prefered the sound of the 805s as surrounds instead. (I'm using them for fronts since I don't want to spend the extra cash for some 801s, but that's a different story). Anyways, maybe you'll feel otherwise, but you should try it out. |
| No weaknesses, just a suggestion | tceverha Jul 25, 2002 1:49 PM | | I was going to suggest the exact same thing. I have 4 805's that I use for front and rear. I also prefer the sound of the 805 over the SCM1s. |
| Wow, wow, wow! Enjoy! nt | piece-it pete Jul 24, 2002 11:11 AM | | |

| Very nice. | Oscah Jul 24, 2002 5:11 PM | | I doubt that you could make much of an improvement without additional cost. Out of curiousity, does the SSP-75 have an outboard power supply or not? I don't recall ever seeing it in person. |
| re: OK, here is the system that i am going to put together! | RUSSIA Jul 24, 2002 6:44 PM | | Get rid of the cables and buy 12 gauge home depot (or other cheap copper cable) speaker cables instead. Get AR cables for your component video, coaxial, rca cable, sub cable, etc. I don't think you should waste your money on some fancy cables. How old are you btw, snoop?

| LOL! | Oscah Jul 24, 2002 8:01 PM | | Trolling for the cable debate again? Aren't we all tired of that yet? This guy is putting together a first class system, components, ic's, room treatments and speakers. Your suggestion will not likely improve it and in my opinion could even degrade some pretty good synergy. He doesn't sound like a poor man, or someone who is going to knock off a bank to buy this system. Please let the guy enjoy what he thinks will sound best. The question was if he could improve it without spending more money and your response was irrelevant. Sorry if I sound like an *hole, nothing personal. Just getting bored with the cable debate (if you would call it one). |
| LOL? | RUSSIA Jul 24, 2002 11:08 PM | | I am not debating...hahah... i just know that you can save quite a bit of money and still get top notch sound by buying cheaper 12 gauge copper speaker wire. That's all! (and if you are getting bored of this "debate" stop caring about the whole issue) It was just a suggestion!

| It's called trolling ;-) | Derek416 Jul 25, 2002 4:36 AM | | You posted flame bait. You may be correct about saving money (I disagree), but you didn't suggest any alternative equipment. Can you suggest any upgrades to the stuff he listed or not? I can't, but there have been some nice suggestions about dedicated power. |
| re: OK, here is the system that i am going to put together! | Paul L Jul 25, 2002 4:08 AM | | Get a dedicated power line. Get a competent dealer to help you set them up. If you are wiring and in-wall cable, make sure they are UL approved.

| re: LMAO... | Bob Jul 25, 2002 1:28 PM | | You are spending a boatload of money, and you are looking for improvements without "additional costs"???
By the way, do you really need such nice speakers as the B&W Nautilus series when you are only going to be playing rap songs with Dr. Dre straight out of Compton?
Just playing with you. Try not to second guess yourself and just enjoy |
