| Has anyone seen or heard these speakers? | Soundman Jul 25, 2002 9:00 AM | | http://www.bicamerica.com/TOWERS%20SPECS%202.htm

I was thinking of a budget Home Theater set up based on four of these new BIC DV 84 towers since my two year old has already knocked my little satellites off the stands once, and I did it once myself. These towers weigh about 50 lbs each and come with a 7 year parts and labor warranty. They list for $798 a pair. I know they are not Klipsch or anything like that but I am thinking on using these with a Pioneer VSX-811 or something of that sort. I found them at Etronics.com for $200 a pair including shipping. Thanks for your comments. |
| Mosy over to the Tweaks and Mods forum... | WStan Jul 25, 2002 11:07 AM | | and ask Ed Frias, a regular there who modifies the crossovers on the BIC's and has his own speaker company. He did the crossover on my cheapo BIC 52CLR center speaker and it is indeed a lot better sounding. If the DV84's are any good, he'll let you know and will also let you know if they will benefit from his mods (check out the reviews for the BIC DV52 and DV62 bookshelf speakers - many of those folks have had him modify their crossovers and they rave about his improvements to their BIC's). He isn't in cahoots with BIC, as he only recommends a handful of their products and steers people away from their subwoofers.
Soundman, I've found your posts to be very helpful and useful in the past, so hopefully this will be of use to you now. |

| Thanks for the reply and vote of confidence | WStan Jul 26, 2002 7:56 AM | | He's got an e-mail address, but I cleaned out my Hotmail mailbox a few weeks back and deleted the message I had from him. Browse through the BIC bookshelf reviews and you will find it posted somewhere in there. |
