Hi, I've been using this forum to get a lot of information over the last year or so and am in the process of putting together my home theater system. I'm itching to get a sub, have been for the last couple of months, and need some advice. I want a nice sub for filling out the bottom end of music and freeing my mains (mirage frx-7). I will of course appriciate a sub for movies, but don't need or even want to "shake the walls". I just want a nice, clean sound.

Price is an issue as well. I'd love to spend in the $300 range, but am willing to get into the $500s if I have to. I have a medium sized room, but will probably move around a lot in the next few years.

The sub has to be forgiving to location, since I know my wife won't stand for it to be obtrusive, since it will have to be in the corner near the set-up.

I have shopped mostly at Tweeter. I like brick and morter stores for expensive stuff, and really like the idea of being able to return stuff if I don't want it, so I'd shy away from internet deals unless its a sure bet.

I have my eye on the mirage subs. I have the frx-7 mains, rears and center, but know the sub doesn't have to match. I'd like to go with the 8 inch, but the guy at tweeter really recommended the 10 since it wouldn't have to work so hard to fill out a medium sized room, even at low listening levels. The accustics in Tweeter were so horrible that I couldn't compare the two subs when I listened.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't need to go mirage, but I really want to be able to go to a real store with a return policy. I want the sub to last for a while and don't want to have to replace it.

Thanks in advance. From reading posts for the last year I know everyone seems helpful.
