| Bass from Front Speakers seems too directional..... | Bobby12many Jul 29, 2002 10:20 PM | | I am a relative newcomer in the home audio game, but I do have a resonably good knowledge of the car audio game, but I cant seem to fugure this problem out!
- While listening to anything on the setup in my room (Cerwin Vega RE-30's powered off of an older sony DD receiver) The low end of music (approximately anything below 125Hz) seems completely directional, an hardly audible, unless you are positioned at about a 45 degree angle with one of the speakers. Could this be due to the fact that there is only about 3 inches between the opening of the rear firing ports and the wall the are in front of? I know that these are not amazing speakers, but They should be able to preform on a much more predictable level! ANy input? |

You will here huge differences as you move the speakers around and will eventually find the right place for them according to your listening position. |
| Sound to me like you've got them wired out of phase.... | yogo Jul 30, 2002 8:18 PM | | The clue to me was that you can hear bass at the sides of your speakers but not much when you're directly between them. Check your speaker wiring. Make sure both of your speakers are wired correctly. Try, with the power off, swapping the hot and the ground on on the back of just one of your speakers (but not on the reciever end of the cable). When you turn the reciever back on you should hear either more or less bass. Connect that speaker however you have to to get the most bass. |
