Good Match For NADFiX3R
Jul 30, 2002 3:39 PM
I have recently purchased an Nad C350 integrated and C521i Cd player. I've been using a cheap pair of speakers and was very impressed with the improvement in their sound. However, as I'm sure they are the weakest link, I am in the process of upgrading. I have shortlisted a few bookshelf models through audition , but haven't had the opportunity to hear them on NAD equipment. Would like to hear from anyone who has, or might know of a good match.
The speakers I'm considering are:

Kef Q1's
B&W DM303, B&W 601 S3
Mission 780
AE Aegis Evo One

Appreciate any suggestions :¬)

I think they all could work well. You'll have to listen and decide what your tastes are. Here are some more:
GR-Research Paradox ($500):

Monitor Audio Bronze II (not I or III)
Triangle Titus ($500)
Ellis 1801 (DIY kit)
Axiom M22ti ($350-400)

Can't go wrong with the Kefs. I powered a pair of Q65's with a NAD 116 and 216 and they were a great match. Now the Q65's are being powered by a C350, and they still sound great. The Kefs are a wonderful all-around speaker that sounds great with all music genres. You'll be particularly impressed with the tweeter; voices sound wonderful.

I hear that NAD and PSB are like a match made in heaven. You could look at the PSB 3LR or maybe the 4T. Both would sound superb i suppose. I plan on getting a pair of PSB 6T's to go with my NAD C-370 pretty soon.
