| SACD & DVD-A with no sub | Dolphinbill Jul 30, 2002 5:52 PM | | I know that having 5 full range speakers are the way to go in regards to SACD and DVD-A but what about a sub? If I don't have a sub, will I be missing anything from the subwoofer analog out? If a disc is mixed with the low frequencies going to the sub, will I miss that part even though my mains can go that low?
Thanks. |

If you don't tell the player you don't have a subwoofer, it won't send those really low sounds to ANY of the other speakers and will sound crappy. But only Sony SACD players have (some) bass management right now and two real expensive Denons for Dvd-Audio (bass AND distance setings). Soembody on HTF said a future Samsung will have bass management for Dvd-Audio.
