I was thinking of the Pioneer S-DF3-K speakers, but could someone recommend any others? Thanks for any assistance!

...build the Dayton BR1 from PartsExpress.com. This speaker will compete with others around $400.

This kit retains the laid-back coherence of the B&W 303, but more revealing. It has the dynamics of the Paradigm Mini, but more refined. IMO, the Daytons will trounce the Pioneers you are referring to. Once one gets into a Studio 20 or a small 600 series B&W.. well, then you get stiff competition.

Don't be afraid to build these - a little soldering skills are all thats needed. 2 hours if you know what you're doing, 4 (like me) if not. If I can build 'em, you can. The long-term benefits are well worth it.
