|   DIY Sub -- How does this sound? | Keith from Canada

At any rate, the time to purchase is drawing near and I'm searching for feedback concerning my proposed plan.
Since my father is a woodworker and Adire Audio has detailed blueprints, I don't need to worry much about the design aspect. Here is what I am looking at for components:
Adire Sealed Sub Kit -- $25 (I don't think I have the skills...or the need for a vented sub).
Adire Shiva 12" -- $125 OR Adire Tempest 15" -- $150. (I know it's only an extra $25 but 15" would definitely be overkill in my room!).
AVA250 plate amp -- $179.
As you can tell, I am fond of Adire. The reason for this is that they were extremely helpful to my father when he was looking to put his 1960's speakers in a new enclosure. They sent him blueprints and gave him advice for every step of the design...despite the fact that he didn't buy a thing off of them. So, unless someone else has a better deal than Adire, I'd like to stick with them.
