I've found that I prefer the sound with the crossover set at 80hz or lower with my front L/R (Infinity IL40) set to 'large.' Properly positioned, the speed and detail are adequate for limited (through amp gain and x-over/receiver settings) musical application, pretty good for LFE-laden movies. I've pushed it pretty hard, and it gets warm, but not approaching meltdown levels.
However, I have been thinking lately that I might also like to own the 12", 250W Entra Sub Two set at about 30-40hz with the amp gain dialed back on both. My perception (ears, not meters) is that the 10" sub isn't reproducing the lowest frequencies with the authority I would prefer. |
