Subwoofer....Coffee Table?Jonny Ice
Dec 12, 2002 2:32 PM
Ok so I was thinking about killing two birds with one stone. I have a few woofers lying around, 12-18", and wanted to make a downfiring sub integrated into a coffee table of some sort. The wiring etc. is not my concern, my greatest concern is of course is the whole thing feasible without having a jumping table or a useless cone?
<<the mechie and the psychie have teamed up for this one!>>
Thanks!
Jon

many people have done this, in fact, several commercial designs exist as well. the table will have to be quite heavy and inert. the ones i remember were made of marble.

Been there, done that, bought the tee-shirt. I purchased a BSR 15" sub many, many years ago from DAK for $99. Although it was cheap and boomy and was replaced in short-order with a custom-built ACI Saturn sub, it made a great coffee table and is still used today----as a coffee table (it matches my room/equipment better than any coffee table I could find).
