| So many subs to little money. Whats a newbe to do | PhatMatt Apr 14, 2003 4:43 PM | | I am getting a Axiom M22Ti and am looking for a sub for these speakers. I am considering the Energy 10.2, SVS 25-31 PCI, or HSU VTF-2. Any info or suggestions would be great.
Thanks

Also Parts Express sells a sub kit very similar to the Rava. I would probably stick with Rava because so many people bought it and liked it.

I recently purchased a pair of Axiom M22ti's and am buying a nice new sub to go with them. After reading as much as I could from various websites, and message boards, I've decided on the Hsu VTF-2. From all I've read, I'm going to be a very happy camper. :) |

For HT, go with the SVS (keep in mind you should be able to have it retuned to 22Hz). For music, go with the Rava. If HT but you do not like a tall, black cylinder, go with the VTF-2. |

I am waiting till I can afford a REL.SVS is the best out of the lower priced subs that I have seen and read about.I just sold my NHT Subonei which was great for both HT and Music, but my main speakers go to 27Hz. so there was not much to be gained in hanging on to the NHT.
REL allows you to have the cutoff point selected to the exact cutoff of the peakers so they will be great to mesh with the main speakers.
I would certainly not buy an Axiom sub.
Good luck! |

I have never heard the svs or the vtf but i considered them when i was buying a sub, and I did a butt load of research and decided that the RAVA was the best bang for the buck, and i havent been disappointed at all. Im about 50/50 HT and muzic. I like the driver in it so much that i decided to buy another one to use in my car. Adire Audio just gives you so much information you know exactly what you are buying when you buy it. The RAVA runs about $430 after shipping and handeling. If you decide that you like adire they have something for people leaning heavily on HT its called the Dharman its almost the same thing as the RAVA only its ported. and $200 more. Happy hunting. IF you decide on the hsu or vtf id be interested in hearing how you like it.
