| def tech frequency responce | f0rge Apr 14, 2003 8:21 PM | | i'm looking at the def tech BP10B towers. these claim to have a 20hz-30khz frequency responce. i havent been able to go hear them yet, but that seems awfully low for two 6 1/2 inch drivers. are the specs on the site accurate?

| I agree | RobotCzar Apr 18, 2003 9:06 AM | | A frequency response spec is useless without additional information of what the response amplitude range is (e.g., +-3 dB). This plus or minus decibel range indicates how even or flat the response is, not just that some response is detectable.
The response at 20 Hz of a 6-in speaker is likely to be very very low. So low that you won't be able to hear it. |
| I agree | DeF_TecH_FreaK Apr 20, 2003 9:04 PM | | It'll pick up 20Hz but it's pretty much useless.
My BP30's play 20Hz loud enough so I can feel it, but thats runnign at reference level. Mine also add 2 more drivers per tower.
No matter how ya look at it, 6" drivers going down to 20Hz is somewhat interesting. especially in the sleek cabinets they are housed in. I dont really think their so called Base Transmission Line is top of the line, but its gotta be helping a little :) |
