| Center speaker capable of 40 hz or only 80 hz? | flup Apr 15, 2003 2:42 PM | | hi,
what would actually be the better center speaker for both HT and music? A full range center that goes down to 40 hz or one that is crossed over at a higher frequency, say 80 hz?
tks

It should be full range, capable of 35-40Hz reproduction. But still, they should be crossovered so that lowest octaves are produced only by the subwoofer. Otherwise there will be phase cancellations in the bass. I think the best crossover frequency for such a system would be around 50Hz. |
