Feb 26, 2001 11:39 AM | | I would appreciate opinions on SS Amp choices for a pair of CLSI's. I am currently listening to Maggie 1.5s. My amp is the Adcom 535 (musical but no power)and my pre is the Adcom 565. My primary source is the CAL DX-1. I just purchased a pair of CLSI's with new panels and am interested in some input on new amplification. I prefer solid state and have considered the Pass Labs Aleph 2, BAT VK-500 with "BAT-PAK", the Sim Audio Moon W-5 and the Krell KSA150 as alternatives. They may not be the most powerful amps for what I need by they are in my new/used amp price range (2,500-3,500). I am in the process of picking up a Wadia 830 which I anticipated running directly to the amp (because of its digital volume control). Any recommendations or observation would be appreciated. |
