However, if you have fairly tough speakers to drive I would definitaly go with the Adcom!! It can handle most any reasonable load and keep your speakers in control upclose to its full rated output. The Anthem will just simply loose control when pushed into tough speaker loads and high volume. Don't be fooled by thier ad comparing to B&K and Adcom. Anthem isn't measuring wattage the same as the others. I even like the Adcom better then the B&K or Parasound 5 channel but you didn't ask about those. The Adcom uses Mosfet outputs, very musical, runs a little warm though. That's not a problem with it though. Hope this helps a little |

The GFA could not even come close to the power, control and headroom of the Anthem. The GFA did sound good but did not have the power when pushed. Studio 100's will dip into the 4ohm range when pushed and the Adcom could not drive them at all, period. The Anthem on the other hand never skipped a beat, plenty of power and control, and I like it loud, very loud. In my opinion, and I believe other's will agree, Adcom's are nothing more than good marketing, build quality and performance are terrible... |
