I am presently upgrading from a pro-logic receiver to a digital receiver. The Yamaha V-800 and V-1000 are the two I am deciding on.
The 6.1 DTS-ES /Matrix DD and the center rear channel are the problem.
On the V-800 a phantom rear channel is used for this mode and on the V-1000 a preout terminal and powered speaker are required. My question is, would there be any difference between the two applications? I have heard via feedback from V-800 owners that the phantom mode is very good. Any comments by V-800 owners or anyone else concerning this subject would be greatly appreciated.
