| Chiro C-800 DTS upgrade | Fredrik Johrin Mar 6, 2001 12:13 PM | | Hi i wonder if there is an upgrade for the Chiro C-800 decoder.
because i can play both Cd and Laserdisc DTS but not from my DVD player. and the store i bought it from tells me that there is an upgrade in the U.S.A but not in sweden. so i would be glad if someone would show some mercy over my problem and help me.
Kindest regards Fredrik Johrin Sweden. |

You can also buy DVD player with DTS/DD decoder built-in. Or other decoder from different company such as Technics DD/DTS decoder.
"i can play both Cd and Laserdisc DTS but not from my DVD player" This statement I don't quite understand. Is your LD player has DTS built it ?/.. or Chiro C-800 already has DTS ?? DTS-CD/LD/DVD needs DTS decoder. they won't play on normal CD player. Unless hybrid of course. |

The company that sold me the chiro C-800 and the 5.1 decoder says that i need an DTS upgrade software installed because now i can only play Cd and Ld DTS yes doesnt it sound strange. But i can play Alan Parson (CD DTS) and (Jurassic Park LD DTS) but not DVD DTS it will sound horrible. i dont figure why my C-5.1 decoder dont decode DVD DTS when i can play Alan Parson CD DTS in the same dvd player.
Kind regards Fredrik Johrin sweden |

I'm sure you can solve the problem. there is no such thing to DVD DTS decoder. It is just DTS decoder and signal passthrough.
Enjoy the DTS. |

Yes i have changed the settings on DTS out. i have tested all kinds of configuration whith the PCM settings tried different cables, disconnected my laserdiscplayer, tried only opticalcabel and tried koaxialdigital cable seperatly with no success.
My system has these components.
1. Sunfire Cinema grand
2. Chiro C-800 preamp and 5.1 decoder
3.Pioneer DVD 535
4.Pioneer Ld Elite
5.Optical monstercable
6.Clou cables
7. Klipsch speakers CF-2 and Kv-4
everything works fine exept that i cant get the DTS sound out from my DVD damn!!!! |
