| Harmon Kardon Vs. Denon | scott.mackenzie Jul 8, 2001 12:47 AM | | I am looking for an AVR to use for Home Theatre and Home Audio and have narrowed it down to the HK AVR310 and the Denon 1801. Any thoughts on the best technology etc. Thanks |

I was faced with a similar situation a few weeks ago. I had narrowed my choices to the HK AVR 510 or the Onkyo TXDS696. I tried to read every review on the web I could find (google is a good engine for this) and eventually decided on the HK. I have been delighted with it ever since. The only downside I could find about the HK receivers were some problems with the reliability of the earlier models. However, the AVR series seems to have good reliability. I can honestly say that it is the best sounding receiver I auditioned and I listed to many receivers including Yamaha, Denon, and Onkyo. The icing on the cake for me was when the mfr. of the speakers I was buying (Ascend Acoustics) recommended the HK. Good Luck! Let us know what you decide. |
