Ideas?? | Matt Johns Jul 16, 2001 9:04 AM | | I just posted below about the Roksan Kandy KA-1 which can be had for less than 700.00 on various audio message boards like audiogon. I recommend this amp based on the reviews by many british mags. What hifi calls it big and bold sounding. |

Want even more power, bridge it with the identical C270 power amp $500 and you'll get 300Watts into 6 ohms!!! BillB |
| For $1K I would ........ | Jetsons Jul 18, 2001 5:59 PM | | seriously conside separates. A couple of examples:
Slightly used Bryston 3B-ST with a bullet proof fully transferable 20 year warranty. Price, less than $1K.
Preamp: Creek OBH-12 passive available for $250.00, new w/remote.
Better preamp. FT-Audio LW1 @ $500.00, new. Check http://www.ftaudio.com. Also do a search at http://www.audioasylum.com for more info. No remote.
I say this as I directly compared the highly reviewed the Musical Fidelity A300 ($1.5K) with separates costing less (Creek OBH-12 as the pre) and simply believed the separates offfered a much better price/performance ratio and higher flexibility.
BTW, I agree with the others. I would spend less if shopping for an integrated amp. Just MO.
