I want to bi amp a pair of speakers and would like to know if I need identical amps in order to do this. My amp is currently rated at 150 watts per.

TO your answer no!! but it does help to have the same amount of watts or more.If one amp is to big you can aways turn it down to balance the speakers sound. But For people that think that amps sound diffrent from one another they do ...But on you case I`m sure you`ll be happy with what ever you will use as lone as its more watts per channel or the same as what you have!!!
