|   Cary SLI-80 Integrated Tube Amp -- Good Match for B&W N805? | Winston
Jul 11, 2001 8:01 AM | | I am curious how people feel about tube electronics with B&W N805. In particular, I am considering the SLI-80 Integrated to stay within my budget. Will this be enough power? Will this be enough "quality" power to make the 805's sing? Any suggestions/advice appreciated.

Jul 13, 2001 8:03 PM | | Winston - I'm not familiar with the B&W 805's but my CJ Premier 11a (which puts out about the same as your SLI-80) drives my Thiel CS 1.5's just fine - but I wouldn't try anything bigger in the Thiel line. You might try posting your question to the TUBES message board here on Audio Review if you haven't already. SLI-80 was on my short list of tube amps but I got a good deal on the CJ and already had the preamp. SLI-80 is a very nice integrated I wouldn't mind playing with someday! |
